Computer is running windows XP.

seems to be crashing randomly, no pattern in its timing or activity to cause it.

Is it always the same error? If not, I'd look at overheating, or poorly-seated components (memory, video card).

Its def no overheating, booting into bios straight after a crash shows ~30degrees. computer is very cool. –  Hailwood Feb 22 '11 at 6:46

And then did you consider my question about the same error, and reseating components? –  user3463 Feb 22 '11 at 6:48

It looks like its not the same error, sometimes its the service manager as well, I might try reseating the components and will let you know. –  Hailwood Feb 22 '11 at 6:52

See if you can test the power supply as well. That can cause random errors too. –  user3463 Feb 22 '11 at 7:00
