My school has blocked everything but I am able to use a proxy server to access sites. But they have old versions of flash and it won't allow me to update without permissions. Is there any way to have like a portable flash player or something?

Boo at circumventing your school's system – Joel Coehoorn Feb 22 '11 at 23:42
No you don't understand, Alien225 just wants to open the entire network to viruses and trojans for everyone to enjoy. There is a reason they block sites. – Moab Feb 23 '11 at 0:27

No, they've blocked EVERYTHING. I want to be able to get to some decent sites. Only stupid educational sites are allowed. And sometimes I just like to have a little fun by watching youtube or games. – Alienz225 Feb 23 '11 at 3:03

Again, there is a reason they block sites. They didn't shell out all that tax payer cash for equipment for students to watch YouTube and Hulu on. They are educational machines, meaning you should be learning on them, not playing games or watching movies, that is what your own computer is for. – MaQleod Feb 23 '11 at 6:50
@Moab: I wouldn't call upgrading software "opening the network to viruses and trojans". – grawity Feb 23 '11 at 13:18

While your actions are deplorable, you should take this opportunity to report a vulnerability to your school's staff. Given that Adobe updates Flash quite often to fix security problems, it would be in the school's best interest then take the correct action and update. It would also behoof them to begin a policy of implementing updates more regularly.
