I like Transmit for Leopard because of its simplicity and its integration into Panic's Coda software and on Windows I use Filezilla. Both have synchronization and real-time folder monitoring.

Filezilla - http://filezilla-project.org/

Yeah CuteFTP is great. Also, SmartFTP is lightweight and decent http://www.smartftp.com/download/

On a Mac though, nothing beats CyberDuck.

CuteFTP is ok, I use SmartFTP though. Easy to use, manage, and works nicely with my hosts.

The best FTP client for you is the one you feel comfortable with. Generally, all FTP clients will house the same features (as the FTP protocol is only so broad when it comes to commands and features). You will have to decide what interface you prefer when it comes to that.

Personally, I prefer FTP Explorer, due to the fact that I've been using it for quite some time. But from what I've seen of Cute' it is a fine FTP client.

Don't mind what others tell you is better and whatnot. Just use the one you like the most. If you're missing some feature, you'll search for the one with that feature next time. If you're not missing any features, then it's best to have an unbloated client that doesn't even have those.

I use CoreFTP (Basic) which has a simple no frills interface since I don't spend too much time on the FTP Screen.

I have come across CuteFTP lots of times over the past 5 years and I'm guessing there would be a lot of support information around in case you ever get stuck in the FTP programming mode.

In my opinion, use VuteFTP only if you are a hardcore FTPer!

Another simple and easy to use FTP client is FileZilla, which has a solid and easy to user interface. Just try a couple free ones and see which one you like best.

I used to use CuteFTP on a windows machine. It was a nice FTP-tool, but now I would stick with FileZilla...
