gota love the amazing sed (and still learn how to use it to its fullest) – cregox Apr 2 '11 at 17:34

Well, there is always Apple´s official command line guide (PDF, free) but back when I learned my way around the Terminal, I found Unix for the beginning Mage (PDF, free) quite entertaining and educational (given it suits your humour).

If you´d rather go for a book, I´d highly recommend "The Mac OS X Command Line: Unix Under the Hood".

+1 for Under The Hood – StevenV Aug 15 '11 at 18:06

To quickly get better and do cool things with the command line, you should really go on :

The site is filled with cool tricks and technics that work great (most of the time) on MAC, Linux and many other Unix systems.

Also, you may have fun going on this other great site : This one is more geared at the technicalities of the commands, but still very usefull!

Have fun!

Because cool tricks is what someone needs when just learning to utilize the shell for everyday tasks. – Daniel Beck Mar 5 '11 at 7:16
Good point Daniel, but in my mind computers are like computer games, the more fun you have, the more you learn! – deijmaster Mar 7 '11 at 22:43
