This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers.

If you mean HyperTerminal, it's no longer included in Windows 7. Use Phone and Modem Options instead:

  • Open Phone and Modem Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Phone and Modem Options.

I recommend you to use PuTTY. HyperTerminal is no more in Windows 7.

I think Putty is probably the best replacement as well. – William Hilsum Mar 11 '11 at 9:32

I suspect you're looking for HyperTerminal? If so, it isn't on Windows 7. Take a look at this site for the way to get the files needed and how to install it on Windows 7.
