Using XP pro on all systems:

I'm trying to set up the model example of a windows shared internet connection.

If you use the setup wizard and click on show example of shared connection that is exactly what I'm trying to do.

I am trying to complete a path as such:

Internet > Modem > PC1 > Router > PC2

currently PC1 has internet connection and network connection

currently PC2 has network connection only

I don't know if I have to customize the ip's or router/modem settings but I use the wizard and it does not seem to work if any one can help it would be a great releaf of frustration!

I would also like to limit PC2's access I only need internet for ONE (1) specific program and one program only! So I can do that after hopefully or if you want to assist with that perhaps it will be easier knowing that? Maybe I can just use one port or something sorry not much for a Network Guru?!

my 'answer' did not really consider the router might have a problem with this. Look up setting up a subnet on 10.x.x.x for pc2 and the router and have the router forward to pc1 as gateway. The gateway for pc2 would be the router at maybe 10.0.0.1 – bboyreason Mar 23 '11 at 21:55
