I have a Logitech V220 mouse on my laptop (the one with the little USB dongle). Occasionally, it will get pretty laggy, and slow to move around. Also, when this happens, the OS will sometimes only get partial mouse events (i.e. I click on something and move my mouse and it starts dragging). I have good battery level (as reported by the software). Also, the drivers are up to date.

Is this normal? Could it be caused by interference on the 2.4GHz band that the mouse uses? Would a different mouse not have this same problem?

I'm getting kind of sick of dealing with this but the touchpad on my Dell is terrible.

wireless mice are fun toys, but nothing beats the simplicity and reliability of a wired mouse. – MaQleod Mar 21 '11 at 22:33
Ahh but it's so convenient to move my laptop when I have less cords! Not to mention the lack of clutter. If this were a desktop, I'd agree, but for my laptop I'm not ready to give up on wireless. Oh well, maybe I'll have to... – Matt Mar 21 '11 at 22:37
I only ever tried one wireless mouse for my laptop, and it had similar issues to what you're seeing, on either channel it had. It also ran out of batteries pretty quickly. I'm sure things have changed since then, this was about 7 years ago, but I don't want to deal with those kinds of issues for such a fundamental piece of hardware. If you don't like bulky cords, look at this option: buy.com/prod/… – MaQleod Mar 21 '11 at 22:42
