When I go to YouTube and watch some video, usually the sound playing is faster than the video playing, how to solve this?

My computer is Windows XP, video card is ati hd4830, cpu is amd 3 core thing, I think it is fast enough. Video card driver updated.

Not only youtube, but normal video inside computer is also like this....

Try to update the Adobe Flash Player software to the latest available version. – shiromant Mar 25 '11 at 15:50
Is it lag? And does it happen for every video? – Vervious Mar 25 '11 at 15:51
The video is smooth, but the sound cannot catch up. – gunbuster363 Mar 28 '11 at 1:09
what browsers have you tried? Compare experiences w/FF/IE/Chrome to make sure it's not some strange add on you have. – mjb Mar 28 '11 at 15:32

What is your output format? Is the audio going through the HDMI output to a monitor / TV? It is possible that your output device (speakers or TV) could be the issue.

Also, audio effects set in your sound card drivers' management program could cause the delays.

normal computer output through the monitor.... – gunbuster363 Mar 29 '11 at 1:06
no, for sound output, that is the speakers. – gunbuster363 Mar 29 '11 at 1:07
What kind of speakers? Could you please specify make & model? If the speakers have a DAC or some other digital processor, they may be the cause of the delay. – Joshua Mar 29 '11 at 19:10
I need to check it out when I am at home, not now. However, my harddisk don't have much space left, C drive 1gb space, D drive 8gb space, would that be a reason? – gunbuster363 Mar 30 '11 at 1:42

Hard disk space could certainly be the reason. I might even bet on it. Windows uses extra "free" space on your hard disk for a secondary memory cache called the "swap file." If you get low on disk space, then Windows has a hard time managing this swap file. Clean up your disk and see if that helps. – Joshua Mar 30 '11 at 3:01
