I am trying to investigate the RST5.5, RST6.5, and RST7.5 interrupts on the 8085 microprocessor.

I want to find information about the to the type of interrupting signal used and the built in hardwired priority scheme, but finding resources explained in a plain and simple way is next to impossible.

This is a very specific hardware question, and does not look to bear any relation to actual usable computer processors. This question is much better directed at a dedicated microprocessor forum or Intel themselves. Please read the FAQ: superuser.com/faq – Mokubai Mar 27 '11 at 12:59
@Mokubai - thanks for the response. It was my understanding that the 8085 was a very well known processor, and is studied by many people.I was hoping someone from superuser might remember some specifics because I cant think of anywhere else to ask! – Alan Bryant Mar 27 '11 at 13:02
I would have thought that intel would have some application notes or something describing how to set up and use the processor, though from experience I know that those kind of application sheets can be very cryptic and somewhat daunting unless you know exactly what you are looking for. – Mokubai Mar 27 '11 at 13:04
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_8085 has some information and towards the bottom of the page actually lists some simulators for the 8085, I'd try those places first as they are likely to have the kind of programming resources that would (I hope) at least help to some extent. – Mokubai Mar 27 '11 at 13:08

You could try asking at Electronics. I think that this question may be on-topic there. – AndrejaKo Mar 27 '11 at 13:16
