I experienced a hardware related BSOD, which has since been remedied, however, ever since I've been getting the following in the Administrative View of the Event Log (originally from Kernel-EventTracing)

Session "" failed to start with the following error: 0xC000000D

After some process of elimination, I narrowed the problem down to the "Windows Media Center Client Service" (C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\esClient.exe), which is installed as part of the Windows Home Server Connector software.

That let me find another, informational event log which corresponds to the kernel error

The description for Event ID 0 from source esClient cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Service started

Followed 2 minutes later by the same thing, but "Bad service request" instead of "Service started".

I can view the server console just fine and I can access the files just fine, so I can't seem to diagnose any connection problems.

I've also tried reinstalling Windows Media Center and Windows Home Server Connector (including Windows Media Collector), with no improvements.

I've seen a few references around the web about this issue, but no definitive answers.

Help?

Welcome to Super User! Can you provide the full event details? Not just the description. – Tom Wijsman Mar 27 '11 at 22:56
