I am doing research on touchscreen technology and I have familiarized myself with different types of touchscreen available today, to name a few: Resistive, Capacitive, Infrared, Optical Imaging, Dispersive Signal, Acoustic Pulse.

All these technology seem to focus on improving reliability and I can't seem to find any stats on responsiveness. I don't even know what metric is used or if there is one to measure responsiveness. Could any expert in the industry please advise?

Thanks!

They're all fast enough. – Daniel Beck Apr 7 '11 at 18:20
That's not the point and I disagree. If you have used any resistive touchscreen before (ie: Toyota's touchscreen Nav), you'll notice that interactions are limited to tapping, no dragging or gestures mainly because the technology relies on pressure which does not perform well for drag interaction. – pixelfreak Apr 7 '11 at 23:13
