This type of question is off topic for this site. Server Fault is a better place for these (though please don't cross-post there.) – Wuffers Apr 18 '11 at 21:40

also, this question is quite vauge in it's current form and would be better split up into other questions. For the web server look for a "LAMP" package, for the port forwarding there's porbably questions already asked here, and for the domain name, well, sort the other two out first, but unless you're willing to spend money on a domain name then DynDNS will be your friend. – tombull89 Apr 18 '11 at 21:47
Where exactly are you confused, @wtigerw? This question is very broad; there are already plenty of articles on the internet about how to set up port forwarding. If you have specific questions, you would be best off asking them on Server Fault, but will need to be more specific. – nhinkle Apr 18 '11 at 23:49

Questions on Super User are expected to generally relate to computer software or computer hardware, within the scope defined in the faq.

It's not too difficult to set up. You will need a domain name ($10 from Google, a little more from GoDaddy, cheaper if you get a .info instead of a .com). After that, everything else is free. I like this tutorial.

What you're looking for is DNS routing. You might be able to camp on someone else's domain name. Try one of these websites:

I've used both and they're both pretty simple to get set-up.
