I have just started learning 3d max. My main requirement is that i want to build the model of my house and play with setting.

I want to know

1)Round bout how much time it will take to build building . i don't want charater modelling

2)Is there any software better than 3d max

Depends how big your house is. 2nd question is subjective. I prefer Windows to Linux, I'm sure there are people that don't share that sentiment. Whats better for one person might not be for another – Joe Taylor Apr 20 '11 at 8:46

Completely depends on person who is building it and size of building. As you say you are a newbie in using 3D Max it might take more time for you.

2)Is there any software better than 3d max.

3D Max is very good s/w you will not require any other once you get familiar with it.
