Possible Duplicate:
Looking to convert video to Iphone format

Before you ask, I have searched and searched the results for the first 5 pages or more are wave after wave after wave of cheap, crappy 'software' that just wraps around the FFmpeg library.

While I have no problem with the library itself, I really need something works, SIMPLY and is free.

My iPhone is jailbroken and I do not want to use iTunes for anything if possible. In fact I'd just like to convert the videos and use Openssh to pass the files onto my phone and view the videos using Cycorder.

Any software suggestions?

Handbrake is a popular free transcoder with presets for iPhone and other targets.

It's cross-platform and will run on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Handbreak is good, and can be simply used, but as it exposes all of the advanced options on the main screen it can be daunting to look at for a new user and appear more complicated than it is. – Xantec Apr 22 '11 at 20:30
Understood. The OP mentioned apps wrapping FFMpeg and jailbreaking, so I assumed he's not too afraid of "options". – idleyoungman Apr 22 '11 at 23:21
