I JUST want to access my files wirelessly. I DO NOT want to use internet connection. ONLY wireless files access Within Same House (not remotely).

How do I do this? Is NAS the solution? "Network Attached Storage", it is fine to connect to "network", but I want INTRANET not INTERNET. In other words, I want to access files within HOME network, NOT using internet connection.

NAS has nothing to do with the internet. – SLaks Apr 24 '11 at 2:07

A bit of peripheral advice (excuse the pun): don't use all-capitals. People here have good enough comprehension skills to figure out what you want without you SHOUTING at them. – Marcelo Cantos Apr 24 '11 at 2:25
Then you will need a network. A wireless connection is a network. Does your computer have a wireless card? – Keith Apr 24 '11 at 2:25
SLaks, so you are saying i don't have to connect to internet? Why do some NAS say on the box I HAVE to have internet connection? – aaaaaa Apr 24 '11 at 2:27
Keith, yes I have a top-of-the-line Dell laptop with triple-core and 8GB RAM. – aaaaaa Apr 24 '11 at 2:30

You can connect devices without a router or access-point by using ad-hoc wi-fi. This is a pain to setup (in my meagre experience) and NAS devices may not support this mode of operation.

If you find a NAS that supports ad-hoc wi-fi you will probably need to connect them via an ethernet cable to set it up, and without a router, that's another round of pain.

You'll find life to be much simpler if you buy a cheap wi-fi router. It doesn't have route to anything, but will provide some basic infrastructure (access-point and DHCP) to simplify the process.

Actually I have a router. – aaaaaa Apr 24 '11 at 2:34
You sound smart, what would you say is my best option now that you know I have a router? – aaaaaa Apr 24 '11 at 2:35
@techuser7777777: Connect the NAS directly to the router via ethernet and configure the laptop to connect to the router wirelessly. – Marcelo Cantos Apr 24 '11 at 3:04
you do not have to be connected to the internet first? – aaaaaa Apr 24 '11 at 3:43
@techuser7777777: No, you don't. That's what I meant by, "it doesn't have to route to anything." – Marcelo Cantos Apr 24 '11 at 3:49

Just create a share on a computer. You'll be able to access the files in the share from other computers.

Yes, you could plug a NAS box into your home network and talk to it all within your LAN, without using an Internet connection at all. Something (usually just the WiFi access point itself) has to be DHCP server to hand out addresses, or you have to use fixed addressing. But none of that requires the Internet.
