The mentioned package was installed from a .deb file with no problems.

This happens whenever I install anything via apt-get. The bug itself is harmless and incredibly annoying. How do I get rid of it?

Can you post the log file here so that we can get an idea of what the problem is rather than the symptom? – iambryan Apr 24 '11 at 15:29

Uninstall alsa-driver-linuxant, since you clearly don't need it.

This happens whenever I install anything via apt-get sounds like it affects more than only alsa-driver-linuxant. – Daniel Beck Apr 24 '11 at 15:37
Yes, but this should definitely fix it, if you uninstall it completely. – Robin Green Apr 24 '11 at 15:39
