When I am browsing my emails on Hotmail other people see that I'm online and send me IMs which appear in the corner of my screen, which bother me sometimes.

How can I appear "offline" to other users?

if you edit your post to not use all-caps and try to clean it up so that it's easier to read and understand what the problem is, we can migrate it to our Web Applications site for you. In its current state, your question is difficult to understand. – nhinkle Apr 27 '11 at 7:20

Questions on Super User are expected to generally relate to computer software or computer hardware, within the scope defined in the faq.

Similar to how Gmail and Facebook have an online chat application that gets activated when you sign in, Windows Live Hotmail started their own online chat in 2010. Just like the options available in Windows Live Messenger, you can 'Appear offline' in the online chat window. See the screenshot for the option.
