I transferred mail from one host to another using the Mail app in Mac OS X. I manually dragged and dropped the message over to the other IMAP folder. Now the mail is lost on the new server and the old server has no trace of it. Can I find it anywhere on my Mac?

SMTP is for sending - the folders you see are POP or IMAP servers - so what are you actually seeing/doing? – Mark May 2 '11 at 22:38
I apologize, I just meant I dropped them on the IMAP server. – chipShot May 2 '11 at 22:39
may be you have dropped in wrong directory while dragging. please check once. – Mohan Gajula May 2 '11 at 23:01
Checked multiple times and have nothing. – chipShot May 2 '11 at 23:04
Log in using a webmail tool to see if it's possibly an issue with Apple Mail. – Daniel Beck May 3 '11 at 6:55

Try rebuilding your mail index. Select the mailbox in Apple Mail and select the Mailbox > Rebuild menu.
