I have recently bought a Asus HD 6870 and a viewSonic 120hz 3D ready monitor.

I was wondering what kind of glasses and how I can view 3D on this monitor?

@peth I'm not going to vouch for whether it belongs here, but it doesn't belong on Gaming. – Grace Note May 6 '11 at 17:57

To view 3D on that monitor, you will need 3D content such as 3D Blu-ray movies, or 3D games, if there are any.

UPDATE:

The supported hardware for your graphics card is all listed here:

http://www.amd.com/US/PRODUCTS/TECHNOLOGIES/AMD-HD3D/Pages/supported-hardware.aspx

There are lots of tables explaining the hardware that is supported. At the bottom is a table of the supported glasses for your GFX card.

I did notice that it says with the viewSonic monitor, the glasses come included?

UPDATE 2: The only monitor from viewSonic that works properly is the viewSonic V3D241wm-LED.

Is that your model?

yes i figured this! but this didn't really answer my question – Houlahan May 6 '11 at 17:40
FWIW, driver-based 3D is available in every game, it's just a bit hit or miss whether the effect is perfect. – Phoshi May 6 '11 at 17:45
