I had Windows XP and Linux dual booted, but formatted the XP partition. Now it won't boot?

it sounds like re-installing xp has trashed your master boot record (MBR).

if that's the case, then you can easily fix it by booting with a rescue disk (possibly your RH install CD will do), and re-install the grub MBR.

I'd give SuperGrubDisk a go. It's not the most clear-cut program for a learning user, but should give you what you need without too much fuss.
