Looking to say "http://example.com/index.html -o website.png"

Is there an existing program to do this? I'm ok with doing html to png. Is there a program for that?

Do you want webpage screenshots? –  PENDO May 7 '11 at 12:02

If you want to "script something in the shell" then you need a command-line application to do it, and @Mohamed Meligy's comment still applies. –  pavium May 7 '11 at 12:21

I think you need a html to pdf and image converter. –  user117055 Feb 6 '12 at 17:06

I assume from what you say mentioning "Shell" that you want something on Unix/Linux/Mac. Unfortunately the only script I have is a .NET (C#) code to fire IE browser control and take a screenshot of that.

However, check the answer to this question. It seems the same as yours: Command line program to create website screenshots (on Linux)

If it's Windows thought, check also:

While it is no direct solution, the browsershots project is open source and basically provides what is requested here.
