How many milliamps does the Cooler Master NotePal U3 draw from the USB port when the fans are running at maximum speed? The official specs simply say that it requires 5 volts, the same as any other USB device, but USB ports can only supply up to 500 milliamps and the maximum amperage of the cooler is not specified in the specs. Since the USB connector that powers the fans has a pass-through, I would like to know the amount of current the cooler fans draw so that I can determine how much power is left for another device (such as a wireless mouse transceiver).

Open it up and read the labels off the fans; they usually list the electrical characteristics on them.

I do not have this cooler on hand yet; I will probably have it by next week. The fans are designed to movable, so it should be easily readable. – DragonLord May 9 '11 at 2:46
I did not find any electrical information on the fans. Thanks for trying, though! :) – DragonLord May 17 '11 at 23:02

The packaging states that the cooler uses 0.24-0.45 A (240-450 mA) depending on the fan speed setting:
