I've done some hunting on the internet, and looked thoroughly through their website but i can't quite figure out if they're selling the headset yet. Reading the pages about buying their SDK indicate that you actually get/need a headset, but i can't find anywhere to purchase one. Is the headset actually for sale yet?

Cool device, thanks for the link!

It looks to me like you can buy now and they are shipping http://emotiv.com/developers.html

Just click the buy button, and everything other than the lite edition actually comes with the headset... what the differences are between the editions, I have no idea.

It states that you can download the api immediatly, but the device ships 10 weeks later

. The SDK headset will ship approximately 10 weeks later to enable you to fully test your application.

When we charge your account, we will charge you for the price of the product, any applicable taxes and shipping to the address provided at the time of order.

Please note that Emotiv does not offer refunds on Electronic Software Downloads. Click here for our Returns & Refunds Policy.

At the end of the day, they are the only ones who can answer your question thoroughly, however from reading, I get the impression that it is released and available right now.

Hm. I was under the impression that you would able to buy just the device, hence the "SDKLite" version. Maybe i was wrong though! i'll let this question sit a while longer to see if any one else can find anything. – RCIX Aug 24 '09 at 10:02
My guessing is that, from their website, they are pitching it as a development model at the moment and not ready for commercial release - but I am sure that if you buy the SDK and email them, they probably have the ability to sell just the device to you in order for you to distribute with the application you made. – William Hilsum Aug 24 '09 at 10:24
Probably, but $500? that's pretty steep, and too steep for me. :( Thanks for helping though! – RCIX Aug 24 '09 at 20:54
