Right-click, command-click, left click it, what happens? – Daniel Beck May 22 '11 at 8:51
Thats the trouble, any action on it will cause a beach ball, and I can't seem to locate any reference to it anywhere. Also not my computer, just trying to help a friend out. – user17245 May 22 '11 at 9:00
If that's the case, open Activity Monitor and look for red-colored or resource-hungry processes. You can also look through the user's Login Items in Accounts preference pane in System Preferences. – Daniel Beck May 22 '11 at 9:01
You are over estimating this user :) Thanks, as long as I can get them into iChat, I should be ok to work it out with them. I was hoping someone might recognize it. Thanks again. – user17245 May 22 '11 at 9:14
I've explained to retirees how to connect their first PC to a Wi-Fi network, so I don't believe this, as long as we stay out of the Terminal. I'm confident in your ability to walk the user through the steps ;) Good luck! – Daniel Beck May 22 '11 at 9:16
