I use Windows Live Messenger in conjunction with Windows Live Mail. When new mail comes in, I get an alert which is great, but the messenger doesn't seem to update once I've read the mail.

Always says inbox (2) messages. I know for a fact I don't have any new messages, so is there anything I can do to make sure it updates correctly?

Do you have any other mailboxes on your computer, that you may have used in the past? Sometiems Messenger picks up unread mails from other mailboxes on your computer too. – Connor W May 24 '11 at 13:42

don't you have any unread e-mails in spam or trash folders? have you tried to mark all as unread and then mark all as read? – kokbira May 24 '11 at 14:13
