My Macbook Pro suddenly stopped booting up properly. The following images are the images of the boot logs of the normal bootup and my bootup. I kind of know that it's not a hard drive problem because when I put my hard drive into a functional Macbook Pro, it booted up perfectly fine.

The difference in between these images are that in the normal boot up process, you'll see "BTCOEXIST off" text, but in my bootup log, it never reaches that line. If I don't boot up in verbose mode, I get a prohibited sign instead of Apple logo during the boot up.

I've already reset the PRAM and NVRAM and also nothing else is connect to it.

It's always better to know for sure than to "kind of know". I'd check the hard drive for bad sectors, but it seems like the SATA controller may be broken (if it's not the hard drive). – squircle May 30 '11 at 23:22

I agree with squircle, did you recently drop your computer (on or off)? How often do you swap out the hard drives? I would check that the sata connector for the hard drive looks fine. If you did damage your controller, you may be SOL. Either get it repaired or use an Optibay. – kobaltz Jul 1 '11 at 23:08
Wouldn't hurt while repairing the disk to repair permissions as well. – Luke Jul 15 '11 at 3:58

Take it to the iStore or replace hdd & reinstall OS if You can.

It's the SATA cable problem and from what I heard, it's actually quite common on Macbook Pros. Replace the SATA cable
