From time to time, I use a temporary email address from www.10minutemail.com to sign up for a website, in order not to receive too much spam.

For some reason, the website is blocked on my job. Are there any alternatives for this?

I have found Mailinator to work really well.

It could be that any temporary address site suggested will be blocked by your work. Have you tried talking to your IT department to explain why you need to use the site. If you need to sign up for work related reasons they might let 10minutemail through.

I use SneakeMail.com.

I have been extremely happy with their service.

It is easy enough to use that I create a disposable e-mail address for every website I have to register on. All of my e-mail is routed to my private, real e-mail address where I can reply as normal.

I found that sneakemail tends to not get blocked by sites trying to stop signups with disposable addresses. Maybe it's because it's not as well known as the others. – davidsmalley Aug 25 '09 at 13:40

I am a fan of Spam Gourmet for this. It gives you very granular control over how the address you create behaves.

Yahoo Mail offers a disposable e-mail service called AddressGuard.

Yahoo's AddressGuard

From their site:

Sometimes when you send an email (especially to businesses you're not familiar with), you have absolutely no idea where it's going... or (gulp!) what people are going to do with it. That's why AddressGuard is such a lifesaver. It lets you create a "disposable address" to provide to web sites you don't trust. So save your main Yahoo! Mail address for emailing friends, family, and people you know. Create a disposable address for things like selling a car online, registering for a trip to Bermuda, buying golf shoes, etc. When that disposable address starts to get spammed, delete it.

AddressGuard is included in Yahoo! Mail Plus and in the mail service we provide our Internet access partners.

I've used mailexpire for years — it can issue email addresses that last for hours or months and you have control over the address (you can expire or extend it at any time).

I love Melt Mail. It's really easy, and you can choose for your temporary email address to "melt" in 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours.

You could just set up a hotmail/gmail whatever account that you only use for website subscriptions. At least that way if you need to recover your credentials you can.

I use and like 10 minute mail... If having problems, maybe try and access it through a web based proxy such as Hide My Ass or Proxify

Could not be simpler, no sign ups or logins, just click the link and you have your address!

Actually not as bad a comment as it sounds - I use my own domains proxy to access stuff that is blocked by my work network, so not a bad idea!. – Kip Aug 25 '09 at 15:39
