I have two services installed on 2008 r2 running at a customer site, no firewall running no antivirus installed, DEP disabled. One service was running as a system account and was experiencing some network problems (the specifics are unclear, think it was having trouble opening connections to the localhost when referenced by name). The other service was running as a different user and was unable to kill off its own spawned processes when they timed out. Both issues went away when the services were run as the support user account.
Looking to avoid these issues in the future, would like to know the best way to fully list the security restrictions or access granted for a specific user. With that we hope to eval the three accounts in play here & try to compare them and get to source of the issues observed.
