Apart from MS Visio and smartdraw, which are other UML diagrams software that could be consider as an alternative to both mentioned?
It doesn't matter whether it is freeware or paid
Thanks!

I have been very happy with yEd Graph Editor as an alternative to Visio. It is available free of charge. |

If you're looking to share the UML with other people so they can work on it, http://www.gliffy.com/ might be a solution. |

We use Rational Rose, heavyweight, not cheap in price or learning curve. Suitable for enterprise use. I would have suggested Kivio, but seems not ready for prime time. |

I use Creately to draw UML diagrams. It supports all the major UML diagrams types, have plenty of templates to get started quickly and has real-time collaboration to work with others. It has a public plan so you can always try it out and decide whether it suites your needs. |
