How can I detect with a script or code if a Windows XP machine is in a frozen versus thawed state?

Cross posting is frowned upon, if it is better suited on one site or the other then there are tools in place to migrate questions between sites. In your case though I don't know which site is more suitable, though I would slightly edge towards SO, but that doesn't mean they won't simply migrate your other question here. – Mokubai Jun 15 '11 at 13:59
