I m unable to boot into Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. After Grub loading, the system immediately keeps going to BusyBOX shell. It drops to a kind of Command prompt (Initramfs). Where there are builtin commands ,but not of help. This has happened to 3 or more systems in my workspace.
Help is much appreciated.

perhaps you can post the boot messages that seem interesting. Usually it will say useful things like 'root not syncing' 'unable to mount root fs', perhaps some hardware diags – sehe Jun 24 '11 at 8:44
