Early 2011 MacBook Pros (with 2720QM Intel CPU or higher) support AES-NI. Mac OS X Lion will be released in August 2011 with FileVault2 but no information have been made available as to whether FileVault2 will use AES-NI for encryption/decryption.

Can anyone with an Apple Developer account with Lion Preview access installed on an Early 2011 MacBook supporting AES-NI confirm if FireVault2 uses AES-NI?

Since I see no response. I suppose that: - Mac Developers are too busy getting their hands on new APIs released during WWDC11. - This specific topic might breached the NDA agreement they have with Apple. – David Andreoletti Jun 28 '11 at 4:39
