I have a problem regarding Windows 7 localization feature. I'm based in Poland but use English Windows 7, with localization set to United States. The non-Unicode software is set to Polish, and formatting options are also set to Polish. Input language (keyboard) is set to Polish.
The problem is, that software that has this 'feature' still defaults to Polish language whenever it can. On website I do understand it can be based on the connecting IP resolve and need to be dealt otherwise. But for offline installers, like for example 7zip, it should use my system language or localization, yet it defaults to Polish.
Also, when some software is set to use 'System default' it uses Polish instead of English.
The question is - is there some other place that Windows looks to for language/localization info?
