Off topic, should probably go to Server Fault. – Wuffers Jun 29 '11 at 17:48

It really depends on many factors, which vary greatly, so it is impossible to say based on the information you have given. I would try the following web server bandwidth calculator:

If your bandwidth needs become too great, it would probably end up being cheaper to have it hosted, like at 1 & 1, which would give you plenty of bandwidth, and more reliability than you can probably give hosting it yourself.

I need many modifications at the server side so I needed to have it either VPS or my personal server. I do have hosting too but making my own server really solves many bugs easily. – Umair Ashraf Jun 29 '11 at 17:58
And most of all it gives me satisfaction as my files of important apps are secured and aren't in hand of any 3rd-party provider. – Umair Ashraf Jun 29 '11 at 17:59
@Umair Ashraf Well, that page should give you a start to figuring it out. – KCotreau Jun 29 '11 at 18:02
