Force native monitor resolution

Question

I have a viewsonic lcd monitor with a native resoluion of 1920 x 1080. All of a sudden the windows screen display seetings have changed and I need to set it to 1140 x 900 to get the desktop etc on the screen. If I set it to 1900 x 1080 the the desktop is too big for the screen. How do I force it to use the native moniotr resolution? I am running Win XP, home.

Try setting the resolution with your graphics card software. If you can't, try updating your graphics drivers first.
