I've been asked by a family member to help add some more RAM to a laptop. The laptop in question is an MSI CR610 and is sold with 2 GB in one socket and a free socket (for a total capacity of up to 4GB of RAM), so I simply went to open it up and add the SODIMM.
Now for the first time, I'm unable to open a laptop up. The bottom of the laptop has what looks like a large access hatch like you'd normally expect to find (perhaps slightly larger than you'd expect), but after undoing the screws on it, it still doesn't move. I've even tried removing the screws around it to no effect.
I've scoured the internets for any help on how to open it up or add more RAM to it, but my google-fu has failed me completely. The manual doesn't mention anything about it at all. I figure it must be possible since the machine is advertised as maximum 4 GB of RAM, and she actually bought the RAM when she bought the laptop.
Any information about how to go about this would be much appreciated.
