While using Garage Band on a Mac Book Pro 15" unibody an amplifier output was plugged into the audio input jack. Shortly there after the headphone jack output was extremely muffled to the point of not being audible. Is this a hardawre or software issue and is it fixable

Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried leveling up the volume again? When switching to Headphones the volume can be lowered automatically. – slhck Jul 3 '11 at 22:02
