When the computer turns on and after it finishes booting up, it will go into hibernation mode and can not come out of it. Sometimes it will do it immediately after booting, other times it will do it after 5 minutes. It does not do it in safe mode. Ideas?

Given your computer is an IBM 5150, that doesn't seem to out of the ordinary. – random Jul 4 '11 at 3:23
Maybe your lid switch or power button is broken. Try turning off the options that make Windows hibernate when the lid switch/power button is triggered. – Merlyn Morgan-Graham Jul 4 '11 at 5:03
