I live in a country where only just a few radio stations offer an online stream of their content.

I would like to somehow connect an FM tuner, receive radio on my PC and then stream multiple radio channels to some of my friends. Is this possible?

What hardware/software would I need?

Thank you.

In my country (the United States) this would, I believe, be illegal. Just a fair warning. – CarlF Jul 5 '11 at 18:31
really? just taking publicly available radio and streaming it to a couple of friends? Isn't it in the stations' interests to get a wider reach? – Kelvin Jayanoris Jul 5 '11 at 18:38
unfortunately, this does indeed appear to be illegal :( – Kelvin Jayanoris Jul 5 '11 at 18:49
I agree that it might be in the station's interest, since you would presumably be leaving in their commercials. From what you wrote, they do not see it that way, and it's their decision. – CarlF Jul 5 '11 at 20:00
