On my machine stereo mix only records what goes through the main audio output on the back of my PC. Other than that, my motherboard also offers front audio which can be used as a seperate channel (so you can listen to different stuff on your headset and speakers). Now I'd like to record whats coming out of the front audio output instead of the back audio output while still being able to hear it (like not needing to unplug my headset).

My audio chip is a VIA VT1708B CE sitting on a AMD 760G chipset motherboard, operating on Windows 7 32Bit. I'm having some new (probably not latest though) drivers installed as well as the 'VIA HD Audio Deck'.

Is there any solution for that?

Could you not use one of those simple Y splitters? – Doc Jul 6 '11 at 0:54
