Brother MFC-7440n Print yes, Scan NO. Xubuntu 11.04.
I have spent a week trying to get it to scan. It printed and scanned OK with Xubuntu 10.10, I have 'started over' with a new instalation of Xubuntu twice. I have followed the instructions at the Brother website to the best of my ability about 6 times. I must be missing something.
There are two scanning applications. Simple Scan and XSANE. Neither sees the scanner. I am completely stumped. SS errors with UNABLE TO CONNECT TO SCANNER and XSANE errors with FAILED TO OPEN DEVICE 'BROTHER3:NET1;DEV0': INVALID ARGUMENT'.
I hope someone knows something because I have tried just about everything. Thank you in advance.
