I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox (OS X version 5.0.1) and I'm surprised to see that Cmd + Delete is not working.

When I hit Cmd + Delete in any editor (as well as Chrome and Safari), the line left of the cursor is deleted. This unfortunately doesn't work on Firefox. Is there a way to enable it?

You can't use Cmd + Delete. It all depends on what the application implements.

You will find that Ctrl + U does the same thing in Firefox.

FYI, it's the from bash keyboard shortcut for deleting everything before the cursor. It doesn't work in Chrome because Chrome does not implement any of the bash shortcuts in its text input fields.

So basically:

At least that's what I experienced. Most applications however will let you use both.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to explain.. and unfortunately very application specific. –  slhck Jul 13 '11 at 12:35
