I'm following the instructions here HP Jetdirect and Embedded Jetdirect Inside Print Servers - Upgrading HP Jetdirect Firmware Using File Transfer Protocol to upgrade my HP4050 with a Jetdirect J3113A firmware found at HP Jetdirect Print Servers - Downloading HP Jetdirect Print Server Firmware Image Files Used to Upgrade the Jetdirect Print Server for J3113A HP Jetdirect 600n 10/100Base-T - Ethernet (i.e. G0849fe.dld).
Unfortunately when I get to the point where I enter put "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Downloads\G0849fe.dld", the transfer begins but the HP4050 seems to prints the firmware file rather than upgrade the firmware (which is presently G.08.32).
Incidentally, the other HP Download Manager freezes when trying to do an upgrade of the firmware.
I'd be grateful for any thoughts and suggestions on how to upgrade this firmware.
