Are some web browsers better at maintaining security than others? For example, is Chrome better than Internet explorer or firefox at protecting privacy, stopping hackers/spyware. Which browser is best for this and why?

Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Very vague question -- which cases are you talking about? Which operating system(s)? Do you mean using different browsers at the same time, or do you just want to know which is the most secure browser? – slhck Jul 22 '11 at 10:39
@slhck - thank you for your reply. I have updated my question. – aspdotnetuser Jul 22 '11 at 11:02
Fair enough! As a general guideline, you should try to ask precise questions to also get specific and good answers. – slhck Jul 22 '11 at 11:06
@aspdotnetuser Please review the faq - Super User is a Q&A site, not a discussion forum - if you have any specific question to ask, please do so. Your previous 2 questions are more of discussion & subjective questions than which can be definitely answered. Thanks – Sathya Jul 22 '11 at 11:34

IMHO you will get the best browsing security, if you boot from a Linux live-CD and use that for browsing.
