I want to build a computer.

I would like to know what parts I need.

So far, I have this:

  • motherboard (Biostar ATX,with onboard graphics card, usb slots, audio out slots, vga slot)
  • CPU
  • CPU cooler
  • RAM
  • HDD
  • Case
  • PSU
  • NIC
  • OS software
  • sound card
  • monitor
  • keyboard
  • mouse
  • speakers

What are all the things you need to build a complete computer?

How is this post unrelated to computer hardware? That is what this entire port is about. Could an admin email me an explanation of this topics' closure? Thank you. – wkoomson Jul 24 '11 at 0:55

Shopping questions are off topic. But since this question would only apply to one person, it has been reclosed as too localised. It could have been closed as NARQ for being too broad or unending. Or non constructive for something that would be open ended and subjective – random Jul 24 '11 at 2:13

This question doesn't even define what a "complete computer" is. @kco – random Jul 24 '11 at 2:46

@random Seems pretty obvious, and if you had given the question a chance, if there were something left out, it would have come up. But of course, the moderators like to rationalize the irrational. – KCotreau Jul 24 '11 at 2:52

The question did not ask how to put together the parts for a complete copmputer it asked 'What else do I need to buy...'. If this isn't a shopping question, it's pretty close to one. Yes, it applies to many people, but the exact requirements apply to only one, wkoomson. I don't think the SO policy is to send emails to each aggrieved poster. You're meant to refer to the FAQ for explanations and spend time learning what kind of questions get closed and the reasons for it. – pavium Jul 24 '11 at 3:03
