I have a laptop with Fedora 14 installed. It is connected to internet with a static ip over LAN (eth0 interface) through my institute's proxy server. My roommate has a laptop with windows xp installed.

I want my linux system to create a wireless network such that my roommate's windows system can connect to internet through my system. I have already tried many ways but unable to get it done. I made use of following links.

http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/rhel-fedora-linux-internet-connection-sharing-howto/ http://www.geeklab.info/2011/03/use-your-laptop-as-a-wifi-router/

However, the xp machine sees the wireless network but cannot connect to it. It keeps on trying to connect but after sometime it gives up.

Please help.
