Which is the best intranet software your company has? Maybe it's for making you more productive, sharing information with peers, chatting, etc. Idea came from installing a mini-reddit on my company's intranet.

edit: one product per answer please

Isn't this kind of broad? What are you hoping to learn about? – Troggy Aug 28 '09 at 21:59

mostly stuff served up in the browser (wiki, SO-clone), chat, IM, etc. Like I said, I was thinking of starting a mini-reddit on our intranet, and might work on that this weekend – Patrick Harrington Aug 28 '09 at 22:07

Microsoft Exchange Email/Calendar with Office Communicator. Hard to beat it's integrated features.

Yah, I am not sure why someone downvoted this. Its ok, everyone is entitled to thier opinion here, that is what is nice. You can be all anti-Microsoft though all you want, but you can't deny how nice it works all together and its readily available support. I don't like a lot about microsoft either as the next person does, but you can't ignore its power and usability – Troggy Aug 28 '09 at 22:46

Old school IRC

haha...

The developers use it to share ideas/code, jokes or insults publicly or privately.

Oh, I guess revision control is pretty important as well. ;) (Mercurial or Subversion)

Microsoft Sharepoint Services - because it is cool to see products that help bring everything together. Intranets can get really scattered with lots of random applications and features as the company grows.
