Is it possible in Windows to get information about the COM ports?

If yes, where and how?

What information about COM ports? What are you trying to do? – slhck Jul 29 '11 at 21:28
I want to check all com ports in my PC, I'm learning about ports – superuser Jul 29 '11 at 21:33
This doesn't really add any information whatsoever. We already know you want to check COM ports and I could have imagined that you are learning about ports. But what is it specifically that you have to learn about? Which kind of information do you seek? Can you give any example? – slhck Jul 29 '11 at 21:43
Go into your Device Manager. – KCotreau Jul 29 '11 at 21:48

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. See the FAQ for guidance on how to improve it.

KCotreau states where to find the COM port info (Device Manager), as useless as it is now in modern windows.

Won't get into the days of running more than the standard 4 COM ports in the days of BBS.

By the way: COM ports are on the way out of the industry.
