Alice slaps Bob around a bit with a large trout

Seriously, what's the deal with large trouts on IRC? Where does that come from? If there's a big internal IRC joke, I'd like to know about it so I can laugh more :p

The Large Trout For as long as there has been IRC, there has been trout abusement. This trout has been slapped into peoples ugly faces for years and it never complained. Unfortunately there is just one smelly old green furry fish to be slapped into peoples faces. The "Free the large trout" movement has yet failed to free our beloved old fish and released it into the wild where it could slap itself at other fish and crocodiles. I've not seen a trout slap on IRC for a very long time. That may be because I am mostly on Freenode, where mIRC is not as widely used (I use it though, with NNSCRIPT). – paradroid Jul 31 '11 at 0:04
