I just get started with POSTGIS and I am digging through Mannig's POSTGIS in Action. I am using Windows 7, POSTGIS 1.5 and Postgresql 9.

Sadly, I am not able to copy and paste anything from my text editor (Tinn-R) into the console when started from pgAdminIII. It works when I start psql from the windows console but there are always errors introduced due to captial letters I guess.

Is there any smoother way for copy and paste?

This question came from our site for cartographers, geographers and GIS professionals.

Hi Jens! Welcome to GIS.stackexchange and thank you for your question. Your problem seems more related to operating systems or databases. It's more off-topic here. I'll forward it to the site for database specialists because I think you'll get better answers there. –  underdark Jul 31 '11 at 11:02

Beside the (more or less) bad usability pgAdmin III is also very slow (see this)

I know this is not really an answer to your question, but perhaps a different DB-Tool is nevertheless a good step. If you could specify what you want to do, perhaps we can find an alternative for the psql inside pgAdmin III. Till now I did not find a solution to copy and paste there in a nice way.
